A few people have asked about Pietro's wine seminars, and we finally have a portion of one of them. The topics covered are roughly in the order of general wine history, wine language and tasting profiles, viticulture, enology, smell, the different elements of palate feel and taste, defects, dirty winemaker tricks, food pairings, and then how to read a label. The slideshow is also viewable at https://www.slideshare.net/PietroButtitta/intro-to-wine-tasting-and-winemaking-seminar?qid=bf8f7c6c-4633-4895-b7cf-be97b232a2a6&v=&b=&from_search=1

Had a septic backup at the worst possible time and needed someone out fast — this company https://septicsolutionsllc.com got a technician out same day, which wasn't the case with a couple other companies I called first. They explained what caused the issue clearly instead of just handing me a bill, and gave straightforward advice on maintenance to avoid it happening again. Pricing felt fair given it was an emergency call. Would trust them again for routine pumping or inspections too.
I've always been curious about Pietro's seminars, so it’s great to finally see a portion of one — especially the part about dirty winemaker tricks, that sounds like a session in itself. The slideshow link is a nice bonus too. By the way, I keep a free short haircut style gallery I like to share: https://shorthaircuts.net/
The part about dirty winemaker tricks and how to read a label really stood out to me—so much of what we taste is shaped before it even hits the glass, and most people never look past the pretty label. I've been trying to train my palate more seriously lately, and the order of topics here (especially palate feel before food pairings) makes so much sense as a logical progression. On a related note, I've been experimenting with ways to make tasting notes more interactive and memorable, and stumbled on the choicer voicer, which uses your voice as the controller for matching audio clips—it's a fun way to sharpen your ear for subtle differences, which honestly helps with picking up those…
The section on dirty winemaker tricks and how to read a label is exactly the kind of stuff I wish more tastings covered—so much of what ends up in the glass is hidden behind marketing. I've been trying to pay closer attention to palate feel myself, but honestly, my mouse has been acting up during all my note-taking lately. Speaking of testing things, I ran a quick scroll test online to make sure my scroll wheel wasn't jumping around while I was flipping through the slideshow. Anyway, thanks for sharing this portion of the seminar—really helpful for those of us trying to get past the basics.
That tasting profiles and dirty winemaker tricks section sounds like a great reality check for anyone who thinks they know wine. I've been digging into a similar breakdown over at https://crayo-ai.net
